approach
Facing illness, mortality, or any major life shift can be disorienting and isolating. You don't have to sort through it alone or pretend to have it figured out.I'm a board-certified psychiatrist trained in helping people navigate serious medical illness, with a particular focus on cancer and the many ways it can impact the body, mind, and spirit. In my private practice, I see clients for weekly psychotherapy and prescribe medication if and when appropriate. For those interested, my approach to therapy is rooted in what might be called psychodynamic, relational, and humanistic orientations with insights from attachment theory. What's important to know: I aim to be warm, direct, and attuned with a focus on authenticity and acceptance.I believe it's never too late to cultivate a deeper understanding of who we are, how we got here, and how we might use that knowledge to walk the path ahead.
Experience
In addition to my private practice, I am on the faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, where I see patients and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in psychiatry. Since 2022, I have been the Clinical Director of the Center for Psychiatric Oncology at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute. After receiving my B.A. in English at Brown University and my medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, I completed adult psychiatry residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. I then pursued specialized training in caring for patients with serious medical illness through a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.I have additional training and experience in psychedelic-assisted therapies and interest in integration work.
